Returning to Campus Guidelines
Parents/guardians: We wanted to share some important information with you as we prepare to welcome our students back on September 14th. We cannot wait to see our Cougars and have been working very hard to get everything ready for them. To keep everyone safe we have some things we want to tell you about.
-
Student drop off and arrival must be at 7:40 am or later.
-
7th and 8th grade will enter through the front doors; those who want breakfast will go through the cafeteria lines for their “grab n go” breakfast and then head straight to their 1st period classroom.
-
6th grade will enter through K hall and if they choose they can grab breakfast as they enter and then proceed to their 1st period classroom.
-
ID cards will be passed out during 1st period on your 1st day back, September 14th. This will enable students to scan their card for breakfast and lunch so students will no longer touch the keypads.
-
We have added stickers marking 6 feet apart in breakfast and cafeteria lines to help students stay socially distanced.
-
Students will want to bring a clear water bottle so they can use our new refill water bottle stations located in the cafeteria, gym foyer and gym to keep hydrated. Water fountains are not being used this year to keep everyone safe.
-
We have implemented one way halls and all halls are clearly marked with arrows so students can easily follow them. This will help move students quickly and efficiently to classes.
-
Our custodians now have backpack sanitizers that enable them to sanitize the entire campus each night.
-
Sanitizer stands are being mounted at the entrances and we will have wall mounted sanitizer stations throughout the campus.
-
An HVAC bipolarized filtration system is also being installed in our school that will filter the air throughout our campus.
-
6th grade students and those riding the bus will exit at the end of the school day through the front doors.
-
7th and 8th grade students will exit through the D hall exits to the back parking lot for parent/guardian pick up or to walk home.
-
All students will wear masks while on campus. These must be either solid in color, KMS logo, MISD feeder pattern logo or college logos.
-
The district will provide each student with two solid colored masks.
-
Students will be allowed to carry a backpack this year so they can carry their laptop, clear water bottle and supplies.
We are so excited to see everyone on Monday September 14th! Remember to wear your mask and keep 6 feet apart. See you soon Cougars!!
